    name help

    hi guys, i am having a bit of trouble naming a T, can nayone help. i like to give them names that associates with their most used common name or place of origin.
    i have
    b.smithi called Gringo as she's from Mexico
    g.rosea called ice cube as she from chile
    p.regalis called mrs Patel as she from india
    and a Brazillian black and white called MJ as it black n white lol. (i cant spell the scientific name so i not even gonna bother trying lol, but it is a Nhandu)

    i need help naming my n.carapoensis (fiery red bird eater) and my new purchase i am collecting soon of a cyriopagapus. sp (Singapore blue) as i just cant think of anything that would suit them. any witty suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks

    Well, the n.carapoensis is from Brazil so why not call him Pele (after the footballer), or Ronaldo, or Rio. And for the cyriopagapus you might consider Raffles after the internationally famous colonial hotel.

      cheers fr the suggestion peter. i think pele if it turns out male, rio if it turns out female (isnt sexed yet) might carry on thinking with the cyriopagapus though, thanks again

        LOL at MJ hehe...i wonder if the old Thriller himself would appreciate that? one hopes so!

        i'm rubbish at naming these things...named one scorp (Bothriurus keyserlingi) Tarzan/Jane (unsure of gender), as it grabbed a bit of root i was holding and swung off it! but a situation has to give me an idea...
        i bought a C cyanopubescens named Cynthia, but it moulted into a male haha! so the name is...a tad inappropriate now. unless there's a famous drag queen named Cynthia!

              You're starting to worry me with all these "unusual websites" you seem to be familiar with Chris.

              Anyway, moving swiftly on..........

              Why not just call the Cyriopagapus *SLING* ( as in.....*singapore sling*)

                  Ice Cube - now that's a good name. Allow 'Sam' (I was gonna call mine Sam) for a tarantula name, I'm using Ice Cube if you don't mind!

                    Cool names. I've had mine named by my son. He's only 3 3/4 and told me a story last night where we went to a pet shop in a truck and bought a big hairy spider. And it was called Abbey Comporation. God knows what that means, but when my T turns up, I'm calling it Abi.

                        MJ is a cool name too, may I add. Mrs Patel - man only Shah is a decent Indian surname ! (I would say that though ^^^ ) You shoulda called it Mrs. Shah lol!!

                          thats cool rich, ur safe for now, the patents havnt come through yet so your not at risk of a law suit or anything lol. and as for the Mrs Shah idea, i will keep that in mind for th enext p.regalis. i dont wanna confuse the old gal with a name change, i am still living in hope that she will get used to Mrs Patel enough to come to me when i call her and fetch sticks lol.

                          oh and chris, i am slightly worried as to how you found that website, is there something you are trying to tell us all??

                            Lol kl thanks - I'm off to sleep pretty soon now, nite. p.regalis is quite nice looking, maybe a little dull for me, and also what is off-putting is that it is arboreal - I like ground dwellers!

                              nothing dull about a p.regalis rich, pissibly one of my favourite species, everyone has their own opinions though. when they rear up, the bright yellow underside of their legs is fantastic,
