I have a 30x30x30H Exo and a 45x45x60 Exo in preparation for setting up a community enclosure. I had intended 3 A. versicolor's but its become too apparent that won't work. Ray Gabriel suggested A. minatrix or A. amazonica as alternative Avicularia that might suit a community tank. I'm not comfortable with Pokies yet but I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience and recommendations for setting up a community tank, anyone fancy starting a detailed thread? plz

Hi Peter, the trick is to Keep them in contact with one another, so no large tanks when they are still young. If the species has a reputation for communality (eg. P. regalis) then keeping them well fed should avoid any cannibalism. the hardest part of using large tanks when they get bigger is maintaining air humidity, as I've found with my large Exo-Terra. However the benefits of keeping a community are great, not only do you get all you would get with an ordinary spider but there is all the social interaction and group Dynamics as well. If you can start your group as spiderlings from the same sack and keep a behavioural record. Then others here can benefit from your experiences.sigpicHate is for people who find thinking a little too complicated!
