For those that intend coming for the Essex meet remember I can ask for Paul at CB to source species from HAMM. This German show has been voted the biggest in the world now with over 11000sq meters of tables in three halls and hundreds of dealers selling Reptiles, Amphibians, Inverts, Arachnid, Tanks, Heating, Lighting, Substrates.
If there's something specific you want that you're finding hard to get elsewhere this is the place to get it.

Just provide me your requests and your approx price (I'll discuss whether deposits are required later). I have no idea what the costs will be and if you're looking for bargain basement this might not be the place however if you intend coming to the Essex meet you'll save on postage.

I've ordered 3 A. versicolor slings and possibly some geckos, I'm tempted to ask for more.

Come on then we need to decide a date for the meet-up, it's March now. We need a venue ( with post-code so I don't get lost ), and a time. If its at someones house we could do a bring along something tasty to make up a bite to eat so it doesn't all fall on one person to do it. So what date ? 16th or 30th?

Went down to one of the exotic shops today, met Pete Roach from these forums, placed an order for our meet, took a look at a number of great spiders but unfortunately my daughter had a little accident so we had to leave early (well, if 3/4hrs or so in a shop can be called early).
I'm inclined to go for the 30th just in the hope the weather will be a little warmer and therefore we might be able to sit out in the garden.
I enjoy cooking so I'll probably knock something up. Do we have veggies?
How many interested people do we have for that date?
Will anyone be bringing things of interest or for sale? I may have a few "spares".

I'll provide accurate directions nearer the date, fairly easy to describe, google map and postcode for all those sat nav'ers.

The 30th is fine for me I'll see if I can get my daughter - also in the BTS off work so she can come too. We have a few extras here we can bring along for freebies I think - a regalis juv ( pretty sure its male if someone wants one for a future mating date ), and a H albostatium lg sling, if anyone is interested in them.

i'll come along! should be fun.
if there's any chance i could get a good load of say 20 Holothele incei slings, i'd place an order for them, otherwise i'd just wait for the shows.

OK, Sunday 30th March it is. Start midday.
Food will be either Mexican, Italian or French unless the weather's so good we light the BBQ.
Very informal, bring whoever you wish.
2 exotic shops to visit and I'll entice them to stock up well.
I''ll ask Martin Goss if he wishes to participate and perhaps other breeders.

Lets make this an opportunity to meet faces, talk about our hobby and generally have a nice relaxing Sunday.

PS: I'd prefer that address details etc were kept private so I'll only supply this info via pm to those that have shown an interest within this thread. Sorry but it affords me some protection.

I've been offered some P. subfusca slings for this little meet. Currently about 1 - 1 & 1/2" from the same batch and living communally. No fixed price yet as it depends how many we purchase but c£20 is currently muted. I'm not aware what the price would normally be tbh. If there's interest I'll order a batch at the weekend.

I've talked to CB so its fine to pay a visit some time after lunch.

Hi, yes I'd be interested in a subfusca sling. Put me down for two.

                        bump!
My recent visit to Cold Blooded was quite interesting. HAMM didn't produce much and I was told most of it was over-priced, bad exchange rate and poorly stocked. So, from a large list I received 1 x 12mm versi sling! However he did bring back a male and female Black Widow, some giant leopard geckos and others I hadn't heard of. He also has another Fiji Island Iguana, although that might belong to that Busted chap.
He's told me he'll be restocking from other suppliers in prepartion for our meet.

We're also hoping to see some private sales whilst we snack on lunch. Its not too late to consider coming, so if you're interested please let me know.

Its bumpty bumpty time. Its getting closer, Spanish beans with Chorizo and rustic bread is hopefully on the menu for those who arrive for lunch. If you're interested please let me know. Should be a fun day exploring the shops and having a good chin wag. Go on, what else is there to do on Sundays!!!!

hi peter, i am a member of a very successful arachnid club in kent, if you would like advice on setting up a club in essex, feel free to ask for any advice, or pop along to one of our meetings. our next one is tonight so prob a bit short notice for ya but this country definitely needs more places for enthusiasts to meet up

Thanks for the offer Matthew. I'd love to have time to start a club but alas the band, family and work commitments consume a lot of my time. I'd certainly like to join an Essex club if there were one though. I've looked at your club before but unfortunately the distance is an issue, by the time I get home the meeting has already started. Perhaps one day I'll manage.
