  • Two new tarantulas!

    Hey People,

Thanks needs to be given to Peter Roach on this, as I am now in posession of two new tarantulas; one Brachypelma Vagans, and one Brachypelma A. (<< I really can't remember the rest of its binomial name).
These are the last tarantulas I am ever getting, I really don't want anymore! Four is enough for me

    And here are the pics:

    Red Rump:

    Curly Hair:

    Thanks everyone,

    Rich.
Li'l' Ice Cube the Brachypelma Smithi!!! (As of 13/05/08 !!) But, I'm still gonna refer to it as Ice Cube!

I think albopilosum is the name you're thinking of, and good luck with these being your last!

Yes it is thanks; if I see the name I recognise it but it just doesn't remain in my head for some reason Ahwell, eventually it will stick.
And no seriously, these are my last. TBH, I didn't really want these but now that I have them, they are mine and so I'll care for them. I really couldn't handle any more lol!

Lol well you can rely on the fact that you wouldn't make any money off me, cuz I know for a fact that I won't be having any more T.s; I really don't want to
But, say they all die after so many years, say at most thirty (I'll be 43 ) then I may want another one or two, but that's a looong way off!!
Other people say they won't be getting any cuz they are broke, but that's a different situation

              Thanks man,

              Rich.

Well I did want a little Brachy. collection, but four is it!

The B. Vagans is quite kl, he's a little burrower! He's probably most interesting because he's very fast, digs a lot, builds walls and can be quite skittish! Also he does that web dance (the one talked about in that other thread) when he's caught his food!
The Albopilosm is really fast too, but haven't seen much else from him. Perhaps once I put him in a bigger container I'll start seeing more.
They were both in 4 by 2 inch deli containes, but I thought it cruel, so the bigger Vagans (about 6cm LS) is in the spare Exo Terra originally meant for Ice Cube for when he'd reach that size, and the Albopilosm will be put into a larger container.

              Thanks Colin, Matt, and Michael,

              Rich.

but think about it rich, brachypelma is possibly the smallest genus, thats why i started with trying to get all brachys, it wont take much for you to complete ur collection and u still wudnt have many Ts lol

erdezi * epicureanum smithi * klaasi
                    auratum * albiceps

                    boehmei * annitha
                    albopilosum * baumgarteni
                    angustum * emilia

12?? You must be joking? I have one third of that and I think that's a lot!!

It's alright Matthew... I've already got a good range now. I have a mad tarantula that attacks any movement, a fairly scared but still interesting tarantula, calm tarantula that doesn't mind much disturbance and a very fast spider that has kl, long hair!

Lol thanks. Pokies well, never wanted an arboreal species really Trust me, I won't be getting any more tarantulas. I can make a bet on that and I'd win for sure
That reminds me... Also, for everyone who said cricket escapes are inevitable, and when I said it wasn't and people said "that's how you're going to lose a bet", well, I can say that if I was to make a bet, I'd win. No doubts about it

                            congrats on new T's!
i seem to remember you saying ONE was enough at first...then it was two...now four...
                            i doubt your resolve
you haven't even got any Psalmopoeus yet...only 4 of them in the hobby unless i'm wrong! not that many to get
as for terrestrials...you've not got a GBB
in a few months, i would be surprised if you're not saying "someone gave me a GBB and Mary gave me a couple P cambridgei"

                            enjoy the new ones!

Thanks James... errrm yep that's cuz I didn't want to BUY anymore, but the last three were all for FREE. Now I swear to God if someone made me an offer I wouldn't take it.
I've always liked GBBs but nah, I'm okay, really!! Next pet would be a snake but I have neither the money or the space for it!
                              I don't have the space for a P. Cambridgei; they're Arboereal!
As for Psalmopoeus, what are they?? Any links to information you can give me on that please? If not I'll do my own research

                              Thanks man!
