hi there everyone me again with a new problem. im now the proud owner of a beautiful mexican red knee adult female. i got her on tuesday 17th the problem is she went straight up in the corner of her tank behind a plant thats there and hasn't come down yet. you can normaly tell if someone's been walkabouts during the night there's normaly traces of substrate in the water dish but it's spotless plus everytime i check on her she's in the exact same place. should i just leave her to settle in her own time or try enticing her down somehow.

hi linda the substrates nice and dry for her and she's about five and a half inches tip to toe might be a little bigger. i tried to send photo's before but couldn't work out how to do it. my son will be home from his cruise work soon so he'll be able to heip me with this. as soon as i can i'll put some photo's of the gang on here. by the way if she dont take the cricket for 24 hours should i take it out or leave it for an extra day. cheers linda.

Contrary to a lot of things we read, Brachys do like to climb and sit on the side of the tank, I've heard of Grammostolas doing the same. If you give her enough substrate and help her to start off, she'll also dig a burrow as they do in the wild. Don't worry.sigpicHate is for people who find thinking a little too complicated!

I agree. Mine tends to spend equal amounts of time on the side (of the tank and low down) and on the substrate. Occasionally she will climb much higher and sit like a arboreal on the plastic plant I have attached to the top of the tank.Gloria my little Brachypelma smithi.
