I have got two M. balfouri slings at the moment, they set me back £70 each when I got them from TheSpiderShop last year.

Only one has moulted whilst they have been in my possession. The one which has ran over the top of its tank and fell from the table onto a hardwood floor! Thankfully it was fine afterwards (it happened about a month or so ago).


I keep them both fairly dry and offer a B. dubia nymph each week, though they rarely accept them.

Update.

My Balfouri is going really well. He's established him self a nice deep burrow which I started for him. Covered most of the enclosure in a fin layer of webbing which will get thicker and more visible over time as he adds to it.

I'm keeping him in slighty moist substrate (4 inches deep) to make burrowing easier which will dry of within a couple of weeks then it will just be a simple misting once to twice a week.

He's feeding on small black crickets offering 3 a week at the moment which I've already seen him come out of his burrow hunt and successfully catch.

So I'm very happy with his progress since receiving him.

I'm really starting to love these spiders, the more i see them the more i want one.

I should have bought some from Hamn yesterday as they were going for 45-55 euro each at about 1.5-2inch l/s.

I didn't even know about this Hamm show. I'm gutted to find out I missed out on it.

And Balfouri for 45 euro? I would have bought two more at least along with alot more.

I'm not missing this years BTS Show for nothing!
