Eventually I found a supplier who wanted almost £50.00 for 24 hasps! In the end I found a place in America who supplied them in the size I wanted for less than half that price including shipping and import VAT. They charged me $0.83 a piece!

www.thefabricatorssource.com - Model number: 106 HCA They stock them as "medium" but are the same size as the "small" ones I used to be able to get in the UK. A fraction of the price and shipping took about 10 days.

Jamie - many thanks for the link, I'll bookmark that for when I get around to having a bash at the assembly. Out of interest, what adhesive have you used and what have you used for cutting the perspex?

      No problem Lee.

I use "Dichloromethane". It is applied using a syringe and needle. http://www.plasticonline.co.uk/accessories-adhesives/adhesives/dichloromethane-adhesive-pack/prod_3813.html

don't cut my own acrylic anymore. I cut my own to start with, but it's best left to specialists. If the cuts are a fraction out it can give you problems, plus the edges need to be perfectly flat and smooth to bond together. I use the company above. They cut my acrylic to size and "diamond polish" the edges which is a must to get a strong bond.

I'm having trouble posting pics at the moment. I'll put some up later in the week when I figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Well after pricing up self builds and factoring in at least 1 trial run I cant see how I could (without buying in quantities I dont need) make these myself any cheaper...and it certainly would not be better quality. For now i'm going to stick to budget plastic tubs as my spiders are only small anyway but when I have more/bigger ones I think I may invest.

My view is you wouldnt put a Rembrant in a public toilet so why should you put a beautiful tarantula in anything less than what it deserves!

I just placed an order for one of their 6x4x4 enclosures. I'm thinking of keeping my crix in it when it comes. It'll let me have a look at the quailty and at £11.75 I thought the aesthetics were worth the extra pennies over something like the faunarariums or whatever I'm quite excited now.

I might be slightly biased here, as I've got 2 12" Exo-terra glass enclosures, but I have 11 HoS enclosures and they are just about perfect in my opinion. The venting holes don't getin the way for photos, and if you set them up so you can turn them round on occasion, then you get to enjoy your little beastie in all it's glory.

I totally recommend them. Mark and Maria are just great to deal with too. Always happy to help and will help to create the right sized enclosure for your T rather than just sell you something off the shelf.
