    Excellent.

    Egg > nymph-1 > nymph-2 > spiderling
(Is the naming system widely used in the UK and many parts of Europe, although other systems are used in the USA and Germany).

    Egg = ball-like (no legs).
    v
    Hatches (leaving a white/yellow 'shell')
    v
Nymph-1 (ball with tiny legs on, can't crawl or produce silk at this stage, just wiggles stubby legs)
    v
    Moults
    v
Nymph-2 (can crawl about and produce silk, but still not that hairy)
    v
    Moults
    v
Spiderling (fully formed, hairy, spiderling. In the case of Grammostola rosea this will be pink with a brown/grey abdomen.

    Cheers,
    Richard

That's fantastic Richard, thanks a lot!
I guess mine are at Nymph 1 right now. Any ideas of the timescale for G.Rosea development?
      Regards,

        Hi all.
Small update on my little darlings. When I opened the tub for todays inspection, I was very pleased to see the darkening of the legs and abdomens indicating a moult to Nymph 2 will be happening soon!

Oh, I also took this close up pic yesterday, thought it was quite nice

        Hope you like the pics
        Regards,
        Adam

It took 100 days exactly, from eggs being laid to actual spiderlings. But it's been worth the wait!
I started rehousing them today, decided to make a start before I become overrun with the little darlings. Here's a couple of pics.

I'm going to be adding a few drops of water every other day to keep the humidity up, that sound ok?
Also, i've got hatchling crickets on order which I think should be an ok food source.

I guess they'll be up for sale on the bulletin board soon, any advice on packaging them?

How's it feel to be 'grandad' to them. Now your troubles begin ha ha.
I'll keep a look out for your post, nice one Adam.

It feels great thanks, Mary. Little buggers are still proving quite stubborn, with only a handful (lol, that's actually quite a lot) now moulted to the spiderling stage.
Picked up some hatchling crickets today, my god they are incredibly small. Any tips on how to get them into the little tubs without an invasion occurring?

You could try fixing a plastic drinks straw to the end of a funnel, then tip them in - at least you have some control of where they are going

I've managed to get some into a few of the tubs a couple of hours ago. Used a wooden stick as a transport device. Only had a couple do a runner.
But, they've not been eaten, and really they look too small for the T to be interested in them :s Should I order some more developed crickets? 2nd instar ?
                      Regards,
                      Adam

Adam, I use a plastic funnel such as you would use for filling those sqeezy sauce bottles for feeding T's in film pots, don't lose many that way. Hope this helps, Mary

Adam they should be fine on the pinheads for now remeber they are chillies and they are fussy eaters, plus they may take a couple of days to be ready to eat since they just moulted.

OK sarah, i'll perservere with the pinheads, thanks.

Got some bad news, i've been extremely busy with work lately and had not noticed a build up of mold on the underside of the paper towel. Needless to say i've had quite a few casualties. I guess at most i'll have 30 slings from this. Not overly gutted as I didn't breed her myself, but i've picked up some valuable experience and I can't wait to have another sac of eggs to raise!
