Hi there folks. My name is Paul and I'm older than I want to be but still act like a child - especially when I'm riding my mountan bike down rocky mountains hanging on with fear in my eyes! I'm a CNC Programmer/Operator making bike parts and other general engineering bits but it's mostly bike parts so my job is basically like working in a sweet shop making nice shiny things for my bikes. I've been interested in all things outdoors all my life and I love animals, especially the less "normal" ones and so hence my hobby with spiders and reptiles. I've only recently started keeping spiders but I want to learn more about them, about where they live, their habit and their survival in the wild. I don't want to just "keep" them and read "care sheets" but I want to know a lot more about them - I hope. I was recommended by a fellow BTS member who is also a mountain biker and would like to say thenks Pete Mosca for the heads up and I hope to have many happy days on the forum with you guys and girls

My current collection includes the following -

    Poecilotheria metallica 0.0.1
    Poecilotheria ornata 0.0.1
    Poecilotheria regalis 0.0.1
    Grammostola rosea 1.1.0
    Grammostola pulchripes 1.0.0
    Pterinochilus murinus 0.0.1
    Euathlus pulcherrmaklassi "Blue Femur" 0.1.0
    Brachypelma smithi 0.1.0
    Brachypelma bohemi 0.0.2
Avicularia sp "Purple Peru" Pink Toe 0.1.0
    Nhandu chromatus 1.0.0

also on there way are the following -

Heteroscodra maculata 0.0.1 - cheers Pete
    Brachypelma albopilosum 0.0.1

All the best and seasons greetings to you all

    Paul

    Hello all,
my name's Marco and I'm italian; I'm 25 years old and I'm a mechanical engineer. I'm sorry for my english, I don't speak it very well but I'll try to do it as my best. I started collecting spiders since I was a child, keeping some local species such as Segestria florentina, Zoropsis spinimana, Hogna radiata, Tegenaria parietina, Araneus diadematus and the wonderful Argiope bruennichi. Some years ago I started to keep exotic arthropods; I kept:
    0.1.28 Pandinus imperator
    2.0.0 Heterometrus spinifer
1.0.0 Scolopendra subspinipes de haani (orange legs)
    1.0.0 Scolopendra tiger-legged
    1.0.0 Lasiodora parahybana
    0.1.0 Pamphobeteus fortis

    Now my collection includes:
0.1.0 Acanthoscurria geniculata (8 cm BL)
0.0.1 Lasiodora parahybana (2,5 cm BL)
0.0.1 Lasiodora difficilis (3,5 cm BL)
0.1.0 Pamphobeteus antinous cf Perù (Chicken Spider?) (8 cm BL)
0.0.1 Pamphobeteus sp. "Sud-Ecuador Machalla" (3,5 cm BL)
0.1.0 Pterinochilus murinus rcf (5,5 cm BL)
0.0.1 Theraphosa apophysis (5 cm BL)
0.1.0 Haplopelma longipes (5 cm BL)
    0.1.0 Heterometrus longimanus

    Regardes,

    Marco

Hi, my name is Guy and I've been collecting tarantulas for several years now. I've always had a fascination with spiders; it was a couple of years ago that I met a girl on a forum who was selling some spiderlings and I jumped at the chance. I bought a Brachypelma albopilosum and a Nhandu chromatus, and just recently I bought myself a Grammostola pulchripes. I'm far from satisfied and will be adding more to my collection as time goes on.

I recently bought a Chaco Golden Knee juvenilue (female) which my daughter has named Poppy! She is fascinating to watch and somehow very cute! I have posted a question in another section as I have a query re heating.
