        • 'Bout time I did an intro post..

Some people on here might know me from BugNation as alienmarky. I'm a member of the Phasmid Study Group and Phasma, but have recently got into tarantulas - something I never thought I'd be interested in. I'm really interested in learning more about them, especially the taxonomical side.

The number keeps growing (18 species, with a few more in the pipeline..), and I wholly blame my other half Sarah-Louise Darwin - even though they're all quite cute. Thinking about joining the BTS properly, but will have to save up some cash first!

Funnily enough it all started when she said I could "look after" a Grammostola rosea s'ling and a Brachypelma albopilosum s'ling - then it all went mad... Avicularia versicolor came along and I was hooked from there on!

                          • Hi Robert,

Firstly welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy your stay here

Secondly, i'll appologise in part for the time it took for registration, there was a large show on over the weekend of which the BTS staff attended, also the Admin dept hold down full time jobs and manage this site in their spare time so there can be a slight delay when their work load increases, to add to this...recently we had a spate of spam-bots trying to register (for Pornography links) so the security has been increased to prevent this, again slowing the process down a little sometimes.

                            Anyway excuses and reasons over

Thanks for joining as a paid up member and i hope to see pictures of the spiders you have (any problems with uploading or forum use..just PM me ok)

                            Colin
