    hurrah!
i suppose at any rate, IF he has a communal set up of T's, regardless of WHAT they are...that's pretty flaming cool.

I still haven't received an answer from anyone as to wether the slings have the christmas tree markings when tiny. I know Craig said they were uniform dark grey when small. Do P antinous slings have the christmas tree? (sorry but I've never seen one).

Not me, but i have bred Pamphos in the past.

To answer your other post, no one is really sure of the identification of any of the species in the hobby and as far as i am aware NO ONE has kept any Pampho slings together in the hobby although i bet there are a load of people wanting to do this now.

I know someone with 2 mated female P. ultramarinus, i will ask him to bring them round and try to get an eggsac of them.

I have tried Sericopelma slings together and they "dont play well with others"

Yep. would like to see some pics of his set up for the Pamphos from the other side of the room, so we can see these huge tanks he refers to, so we can work out the lighting, etc

                that would be nice.
also...perhaps it's time those of us with Pampho's in any quantity start experimenting on some level with communal set-ups. this may not be unique behaviour...

As far as I know, P.antinous(Pet trade) slings don't have abdominal chevrons, but they do however have carapace markings as adults.

I'm in agreement too...would love to see the setup from an external viewpoint. Or are they all living communally with Mrs T.Blondi in that nice 6 x 2 x 2 viv?

                      Toran...pm'd ya.

I thought all Pamphobeteus had the chevrons as slings?

Hi to answer your question, yes.
I Put together a setup with four P equador slings on the 4'th of Novemer last year.
I made sure that they all came from the same sack and ideally had not been seperated.
The guy I got them from is a very reputable dealer, assured me that they had only been seperated for 1 week.

                          Setup:
Tank size, 18"x10"x10" with about 3" of substrate(coir and vermiculite mix), 4 pots part buried and a 10"x10" piece of cork bark to provide plenty of hiding places, a water dish filled with pebbles.

All seemed to be going great with the slings originally finding seperate hiding places and even had a little interaction between them.
At one point during a moult one even seemed inquisative enough to go up and touch the moulting sling before wandering away(after making my pulse race).
They were all equally fed to try and abate any cannabalism but on the 24'th of December I checked on them and could only see three, I must have searched for an hour before finally admitting to myself what had happened.
After the inevitable happened again I admitted defeat and decided to seperate the last two on the 22'nd of January.

I was pretty gutted that they didn't get on together but as some Pampho's are reported to live communaly in the wild I thought i would try in captivity, which I failed to my expense.
I would love to hear from anyone else that has tried a comunal setup with Pampho's.

Well FINALLY someone had the **** to try it! Thanks David for saving the rest of us losses. What size/age where your slings? Sorry that you lost your 2 though. I guess we'll have to see if something like antinous or even possibly T blondi would be possible. Very unlikely I guess!

When I got the slings they were between 15 and 20mm legspan(about 8 - 10 weeks I was told), so i guess that they must have been too old to try and re-intraduce.
If it is possible to keep them communally I think it would have to be from birth but I dont think I would attempt it again.
I will post some pics here later as photobucket seems to be down just now but if you would like to check out some of my pics try
