Hello all, this is my first post, so please forgive me for not introducing myself earlier,(for those that dont know me) before asking a question.
My son (Sonny) would like to enter one of his many spiders in the competition on sunday but..........................................
when he bought it, the incorrect name was on its tank! He is not a daft kid by any means, he knew that the spider he was buying was NOT the same as indicated on its tank which was 'Ornithoctonus Aureotibialis' (Asian Yellow Hair) He had not seen this type of spider before so he said he would like to buy it anyway. It took all his pocket money plus a top up from me! After paying out £35 he was very pleased with her.
She is a very bright & metalically looking golden brown & black with vivid bright orange bands around her leg joints. I cannot take a picture as she is a prolific burrower. He has looked alover the internet for similar pics but we cannot find any.
My son would like to show her at the exhibition this sunday but is unable to put an identification to her.
Would it be possible for someone to 'have a go' at ID'ing her b4 the show so he can enter her?
When he bought her she was a rather ''scruffy'' 'bug' in a 3" x 3" clear glass pot with no substrate (she is 3") and in extremelly poor condition, after re-housing her into a more adequate home and with planty of TLC & 12 hours a day of UV lighting this tarantula is a very fat & extremellly healthy beautiful animal which he is very proud of.
Any help would be greatfully welcomed.
Thanks,
Jay (Sonny's mum)
